Xiaoyang Photography has been in business in Hong Kong for almost ten years. Over the years, we have been focusing on newborn photography and maternity photography. We have photographed more than a thousand newborn babies and witnessed their growth. Looking back, it is really a long journey. Of course, in these years of shooting, our newborn photography styles have many changes! Xiaoyang Photography’s newborn photography styles not only have a European and American feel and a simple style, but some styles can also turn babies into different little characters and cartoon characters. Various newborn baby styling scenes are also very popular with parents and guests.
I remember meeting a baby whose mother was a fan of the character in the movie “Toy Story” – Aladdin. She had dolls ranging from 1:1 Aladdin dolls to dolls smaller than newborn babies. Photographer Coral used different colors of wrapping cloth to make the baby into a little Aladdin. Of course, this made the mother full of praise and she was looking forward to the photos! In addition to Aladdin, there are also cartoon characters that you all know, such as Woody, Pudding Dog, Doraemon, etc. It seems that parents also like to let their babies “cosplay” and cultivate their love for characters from an early age.
Newborn baby photography “The Rescue” styling challenge
Our female photographer Coral is not only a professional newborn photography and maternity photography expert, but also a craftsman who loves handmade design! Every time we receive a customer’s request for a newborn baby cosplay, we will do our best to reproduce it, and we can also feel the customer’s joy when we take the finished product. This time, we have a customer who likes the Scout Russell in “Rescue”. Of course, Coral couldn’t resist receiving this challenge! First, I collected photos of Russell on the Internet. Friends who have seen the movie should know that it is not difficult to cosplay as Russell. Scout Russell wears a yellow shirt, a yellow hat, and a shoulder strap full of badges.
The baby modeling process of newborn photography is meticulous and not sloppy
Although it seems simple, you must not be careless to make the newborn baby look similar! The first is a yellow duckbill cap for newborn babies. Due to the epidemic and for the health of customers, all employees of Xiaoyang Photography rarely go out except for returning to the studio and taking photos for customers. In order to go out, Coral first went to Sham Shui Po to choose the right color of fabric. After returning to the studio, she made the paper pattern, sewing the hat shape, and the finished product by herself! Then the shoulder straps with badges were made of heat shrink film for the first time, and the effect was also good! The shirt is of course made of the wrapping cloth that is indispensable for newborn photography, and the color matching is imitated. Add a small flag representing the Little Flying Scout, and it is immediately transformed! After seeing all the styles matched together, we are all looking forward to the day when the customers take pictures. Not only because we look forward to putting on this series of cute styles for the baby, but also the smiles of parents when they see it!
I believe there will be more opportunities to create unique newborn looks for parents and newborn babies in the future!
