Under the influence of the COVID-19 epidemic, I believe that all pregnant mothers have experienced different firsts, making the journey of pregnancy bittersweet. In order to prevent the epidemic, pregnant women try to stay at home and learn about parenting, childbirth and other information. They also have to go to the hospital for regular evaluation and examinations, see the baby in the ultrasound image for the first time, feel the wonder of the baby’s fetal movement for the first time, and make all preparations for the baby’s birth every day.
“During the pandemic, I was most afraid of buildings being sealed off or being required to undergo compulsory testing, which prevented me from going for prenatal checkups. In addition, under the restrictions on gatherings, many places were inaccessible. When I went for a prenatal checkup, I witnessed my baby slowly grow from a small peanut to a lemon, and then to a large grapefruit. It was a wonderful feeling.” by Queeny
This time, Mouton Photography took a series of maternity photos for Queeny, leaving a precious record for the mother before the baby is born in 2022.
Creative concept: Use black and white light and shadow to depict the natural beauty of pregnant mothers
Queeny was 32 weeks pregnant when the photo was taken, and her belly was beginning to become noticeable. Queeny mentioned that most Asians don’t have as deep a contour as Western faces, but she really appreciates the European and American style of photography that highlights the contours. I believe this also speaks to the hearts of many mothers. Everyone has their own advantages. The photographer observed that Queeny had a high nose, so he could use studio lighting in the studio environment, with professional photography angles and techniques, and guide the mother to take photos to show her best side and highlight her facial contours. The photographer has used years of professional shooting experience in every second to capture the best angle for the mother, and I believe the finished product speaks for itself. During the shooting, Queeny posed in different poses under the guidance of the photographer and assistant. During the shooting, we talked and laughed, and completed the shooting in a pleasant atmosphere.
Creative idea: Create infinite possibilities with minimalistic clothing to show the confident beauty of mothers
When Mouton selects clothes, in addition to being beautiful, he also hopes that each piece of clothing will fit the mother as if it was tailor-made for her. When you see this outfit, can you guess how many different ways it can be worn? Is it 2? Or 3? The answer is more than 8. On the day of the photo shoot, the creative team has shown more than 8 ways of wearing a few pieces of clothing accessories, each with its own characteristics, and the photo shoot is as beautiful as an artistic photo.
Creative idea: Show pregnant mothers’ confidence and healthy body
At the end of the photoshoot, the mother agreed to a simple, half-naked photoshoot. Although it was simple, it actually took several assistants to complete the photoshoot. Taking the mother’s condition into consideration, Mouton worked hard to complete the photoshoot in a few takes. The mother had already mastered the poses after the entire photoshoot, and only needed a few minor adjustments before she heard the photographer say “Good Take!”
